How We're Different

We handle the operating accounting between funding rounds. The work that has to be done every month, whether or not you’re raising.

Calendar icon representing monthly accounting and financial reporting for SaaS businesses.

We focus on the operating months, not just the raise. Most VC-focused startup CPAs are built around fundraising events. We handle the 10 months between rounds when most of the accounting actually happens.

Book representing financial records and SaaS bookkeeping services.

We can read a wallet. If you take payment on-chain, hold treasury in stablecoins, or pay contractors in crypto, your books need someone who can trace each balance to a hash. We can.

We handle AI cost allocation. GPU spend, training data, model inference costs, and Section 174 capitalization for software development. Most generalist firms get this wrong.

Flat-free pricing, not hourly. Cleanup is quoted as a fixed scope. Monthly close is a flat monthly fee. No retainer surprises. Full pricing tiers are on our pricing page.

Real senior accountants, not offshore staff. Every engagement has a senior accountant who knows your business. Your point of contact does not change every six months.

Our Team Members

Who You'll, Work With.

Most clients work with a team of two or three: an engagement lead, a staff accountant handling daily transactions, and a CFO or controller for strategic finance work as needed.

We’ll introduce you to your specific team during the audit call, before you commit to anything.

Who You'll, Work With.

We work with funded SaaS founders between $1M and $20M ARR, including:

If you’re pre-revenue or below $500K ARR, we’re probably not the right fit yet. We’ll tell you that on the call.

We audit and quote.

Common Questions

Common Questions, Before You Switch Firms.

What accounting services do SaaS companies need?
SaaS companies need accounting built around how subscription businesses actually work. That means revenue recognition under ASC 606, deferred revenue tracking, subscription billing management, monthly bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax planning, and fractional CFO support. General accounting firms are not trained to handle SaaS-specific metrics like MRR, ARR, churn, and CAC, which are the numbers investors look at first.

We’ve handled hundreds of transitions. The standard timeline is two to four weeks. We collect your last six months of books, identify any cleanup needed, and run parallel for one month so the transition month closes cleanly. Your team isn’t pulled into the handoff beyond a one-hour kickoff call and access provisioning.

We can do fundraise prep without taking over your books. Many of our engagements start as a fundraise prep project, then expand to ongoing accounting after the round closes. The work stays defensible and the transition happens when you have bandwidth.

Most clients don’t. We work with companies through Series C and into IPO prep. If you do outgrow us — usually because you’ve hired a full in-house finance team — we transition the work cleanly. We’ve helped clients hire their first VP of Finance and onboarded them ourselves.

Yes. Every senior accountant on our team is either a CPA or works directly under a CPA. We don’t lead with the credential because the work matters more, but if you’re checking, every engagement has a CPA-level reviewer signing off on financials before they go to you.

Most Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between SaaS accounting and regular accounting?

SaaS accounting requires ASC 606 revenue recognition, deferred revenue tracking, and reconciliation of subscription metrics like ARR and MRR to the general ledger. Regular accounting handles cash in and cash out. SaaS accounting handles contracts that span multiple periods, which is most of the work.

Below roughly $500K ARR, a generalist bookkeeper may be enough. Above that threshold, especially if you plan to raise institutional capital, you need someone who handles ASC 606 and SaaS metrics correctly. The cost of fixing it later is higher than doing it right from the start.

Fortress bookkeeping starts at $1,200/month for pre-seed and seed-stage SaaS companies, $3,500/month for Series A through Series B, with custom pricing at Series C. Fractional CFO support starts at $1,500/month. Cleanup is quoted as a flat fee based on scope. Full pricing on our pricing page.

We work primarily in QuickBooks Online and Xero. We integrate with Stripe, Mercury, Brex, Ramp, and most major billing systems. For crypto-native clients, we use Bitwave and Cryptio for wallet reconciliation. For complex SaaS metrics, we build directly from billing data rather than relying on dashboard tools as the source of truth.

Yes. We prepare GAAP financials, ARR bridges, unit economics, and 12-month forecasts for seed through Series B rounds. Most of our clients are actively raising or planning to raise within 12 months.

Yes. We handle on-chain payment recognition, wallet reconciliation across Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Solana, and Stacks, stablecoin treasury, and lot-level cost basis. Most SaaS-focused accounting firms refer this work out. We do it in-house.

Most onboardings complete in 2 to 4 weeks. Faster if your books are already in good shape. Slower if cleanup is required first.
