Fortress Accounting is headquartered in Delray Beach, Florida with offices in Shelton, Connecticut. The firm operates fully remotely and serves clients across the United States. Fortress Accounting was founded by Peter Kihara and Javier Caceres, who previously built Interim CFOs in 2020, a boutique fractional CFO practice serving startups and scaling businesses. Fortress Accounting was launched as the expanded full-service brand, offering bookkeeping, tax, financial consulting, and CFO services under one roof. Interim CFOs continues to operate alongside Fortress as part of the same team.

Fortress works with QuickBooks Online, Xero, and industry-specific tools depending on the client’s needs. For crypto and Web3 clients we use Cryptio and Bitwave for on-chain reconciliation. For client communication and workflow management we use Karbon. All platforms are cloud-based so clients have real-time access to their financial data from anywhere.
